Installing the RAPID Web Sync™ Extension
Documentation for how to set up the Magento Extension RAPID Web Sync.
Prerequisites
Download RAPID Web Sync archive from the ECInternet.com Downloads page
Ensure your Magento server meets the minimum requirements.
Installation
Install RAPID Web Sync Magento Extension:
Once you've acquired your RAPID Web Sync zip from the ECInternet.com Downloads page. Extract the contents, and select the "app" and "rapidws'" folders and copy them into your root directory of your site where your Magento installation is located (typically the public_html folder). Note: This installs both the 'Mass Updater' magento extension and Magmi.
Log into your Magento Admin panel for your site.
If you have Magento compilation enabled, you will need to disable and rerun the compilation process.
Navigate to System > Tools > Compilation
Click the "Disable" button on the top right, followed by "Run Compilation Process"
If you are unsure about the compilation status of your Magento site, you can check whether compilation is enabled within the System > Tools > Compilation screen.. If Compilation is not enabled, you may continue on to clearing the Magento cache.
Next, you will need to clear your system's cache by going to System > Cache Management
Select all Cache Types
Click "Submit" on the top right to refresh the cache. Flushing the Magento Cache and Cache Storage is optional.
Log out and log back in to your Magento Admin panel and you should see RAPID Web Sync listed on the top nav bar.
Ensure RAPID WebSync extension is pointing to that folder in your site's root directory. Go into RAPID Web Sync settings through System > Configuration.
Scroll down to you see EC INTERNET, under that menu click "RAPID Web Sync Settings"
Under MAGMI Settings, be sure the Directory Location is set to "rapidws" or points to the Magmi folder on the site in the case the user has their own install of Magmi already (This is unsupported but possible).
Although not required, to enable debugging make sure the option "Logging Enabled/Disabled" is set to "Enable" under Debug Logging. Logs will be written to /var/log/ECInternet.log.
To confirm successful installation, log in as Magento admin. Clear cache & disable/clear/re-enable magento code compilation if enabled. Go to System -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Advanced -> Disable Modules Output. Ensure that you see ECInternet_MassUpdater to confirm extension is installed correctly.
You will need to setup Magento API access for the RAPID Web Sync by creating the API role.
